The Lester B. Pearson Scholarship provides full tuition fees for four years of undergraduate study at the University of Toronto. Annual living expenses include living expenses, books and supplies, transportation, accommodation, health insurance, research projects, internships, and other international opportunities. The scholarship’s total value is $50,000 to $60,000 per year, with a total 4-year value of $200,000 to $240,000.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible to apply for the Pearson International Scholarship, you must be
- International student status: You are a non-Canadian who requires a study permit.
- Academic status: You are either: Enrolled in your final year of senior secondary school or; Graduated, no earlier than June 2024.
- Start date at U of T: You will begin your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2025.
Ineligible students:
- Already attending post-secondary studies
- Post-Secondary Study at Another Institution: The commencement date will be January 2025

Documents Required:
For an undergraduate student, the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship requires two comments in the application process:
School Nomination Letter: A recommendation letter from your school, recommending you for this scholarship, should include the following information:
Why are you a strong candidate for the scholarship?
What are your academic achievements and potential?
Your leadership qualities and community engagement.
Recommender Comment: A recommender, such as a teacher, coach, or mentor in service, should provide a comment that focuses on the following:
- Academic abilities and potential;
- Leadership skills and community involvement; and
- Personal qualities and character.
Please submit these comments online by November 8, 2024, at the latest. They contextualize and support your application, allowing the selection committee to learn more about your accomplishments and potential.

Application Process:
Step 1: The school must nominate the students.
- Before students can apply for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship, the nominating school must select them.
- If the nominating school has never selected an applicant before, they must register in July 2024 through this link https://www3.adm.utoronto.ca/Pearson/schoolApplication.php?ref=644a95b1
- If an applicant has previously been selected, then the nominating school will be invited to nominate in July 2024 by an email sent to them.
Lester B. Pearson Scholarship Important:
Please note that only one student can be selected from each school.
Being able to apply for this scholarship requires a nomination from your school.
Step 2: Apply to the University of Toronto:
Apply to study at the University of Toronto by October 18, 2024. You must apply to start your studies in September 2025.
Important: The Pearson Scholarship will only be awarded to your FIRST CHOICE of the program at U of T. You can apply to multiple programs, but the scholarship will only be for your first choice.
Step 3: Complete Scholarship Application:
Once U of T has nominated and accepted your application, you will receive a unique link to the scholarship application. Submit your online application by November 8, 2024. Submit the required documents online by November 8, 2024.
