Apply for Fully Funded PGR Studentship at the School of Global Affairs
The School of Global Affairs PGR Studentship offers full financial support to a single UK PhD student, including a stipend at UKRI rate (for 2024/25, £21,181 inclusive of London weighting, pro-rate for part-time registration) and research fees of up to £1,500 per annum as well as both sick pay and parental leave. The award is open to a student studying in any department of the School where their project focusses on social justice, inequality, systems and processes, or comparative area studies.
We encourage applications from students from underrepresented backgrounds.
This competition will close on the 10th of May 2024 and decisions will be announced in late June 2024.
The SGA PGR Studentship is only open to students applying for a PhD at King’s College London in one of the departments of the School of Global Affairs:
The application must list two supervisors who are from different departments, where the applicant has secured agreement from both to supervise the project.
We particularly want to encourage applications from UK students who:
- Were looked after under local authority care.
- Are disabled.
- Have caring responsibilities for an ill or disabled family member.
- Lived in an area of relative deprivation (POLAR quintile 1 or 2) while studying A levels (or equivalent).
- Were in receipt of free school meals at school or qualified for the pupil premium.
- Are from a Black or Minority Ethnic Group background.
How to apply
When applying via King’s Apply, you will need to upload a separate ‘SGA PGR studentships project form’ and attach this to the Funding section of your application. You must also declare in this section the award scheme code or name and enter the funding code 2425-SGA when applying.
