Role Summary         

The position holder is responsible for providing overarching management support to the Country Director, coordinating the implementation of strategic engagements, maintaining smooth workflows, communicating with different stakeholders, and facilitating an effective JSI presence in various events. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in conducting thorough research to identify emerging trends, potential funding opportunities, and competitive landscapes within the industry.
  • Evaluate and implement procedures and processes for effective and efficient operation of the organization to enhance overall productivity and workflow.
  • Support in the preparation of organizational presentations and the development of other documentation to support partnering and/or funding decision-making processes.
  • Lead/coordinate large and small group meetings and professional development opportunities for the senior management team. 
  • Maintain a schedule of timelines for due dates of management priority reports, documents, and proposals. 
  • Stay updated on news, regulations, and developments to provide insights and recommendations to the team.
  • Coordinate external communication and determine appropriate internal courses of action for requests.
  • Liaise with JSI business development and communications team to support funding opporutnities and communications support for JSI Nigeria’s portfolio. 
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with relevant professionals, entrepreneurs, and external partners.
  • Ensure smooth communication with GoN, partners, donors, and the JSI global team. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

Basic Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Medicine, Public health, business management, or related field. Relevant management certifications are a plus.
  • At least five years of progressive responsibilities working in a program management or coordination function.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Experience working in the NGO sector, preferably for an international NGO.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and other platforms.
  • Experience in digital knowledge management and project management systems (e.g., Google Drive and Asana).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfortable liaising and communicating with senior-level stakeholders. 
  • Very strong writer with the ability to take complex ideas and convert them to simple and readable text and/or presentations. 
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites, as necessary.
