LEAP Africa, in partnership with the Nigeria Youth Future Fund (NYFF) and funded by the Ford and MacArthur Foundations, is spearheading a transformative initiative: the Youth Action for Local Development (YALD) Project.
We are launching a critical Data Collection exercise across all 34 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Katsina State. This is a unique opportunity for young residents to provide the empirical evidence needed to shape local governance and development planning.
The Purpose of This Data Collection
The YALD Project seeks to bridge the gap between grassroots needs and high-level policy. By contributing your perspectives to this data collection drive, you help:
- Identify Priorities: Map the most urgent needs, challenges, and opportunities in your specific LGA.
- Inform Policy: Provide the data that LEAP Africa and its partners will use to advocate for youth-friendly local government laws.
- Mobilize Resources: Ensure that developmental projects and funding are directed toward the areas that matter most to you.
Why Your Input is Vital
Your responses are not just opinions—they are data. This information will serve as a foundational resource for designing targeted interventions and ensuring that the developmental trajectory of Katsina State is inclusive and youth-centered.
Who Should Participate?
If you live in any of the 34 LGAs of Katsina State, we need your input:
- Students, recent graduates, and young professionals.
- Entrepreneurs and small business owners.
- Community leaders, activists, and engaged citizens.
