Program Overview
The Graduate Trainee Environmental Specialist Program provides practical exposure to environmental consulting, field inspections, sampling, laboratory procedures, and regulatory documentation. Trainees work alongside experienced specialists to gain hands-on experience in environmental diagnostics, Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) monitoring, and compliance reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Field Inspections & Sampling: Participate in site-based environmental inspections, sampling, and data collection.

Laboratory & ETP Monitoring: Support laboratory activities, effluent treatment monitoring, and environmental testing.

Compliance & Auditing: Assist in collecting data for environmental audits, sustainability assessments, and technical documentation.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze environmental data and prepare project records, reports, and compliance documentation.

Team & Client Support: Assist senior environmental specialists during client engagements and technical projects.
Eligibility & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Science, Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), Environmental Biology, Health Education, or a related field.

Academic Background: Strong background in Chemistry-related coursework.

National Service: Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is required.

Technical Skills: Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Core Competencies: Strong analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.

Flexibility: Willingness to undertake fieldwork, site inspections, and travel for assignments.

Asset: Previous internship or practical experience in an environmental or laboratory setting is an advantage.
