About the Recruitment
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the opening of its online recruitment portal, INECPRES, for individuals interested in serving as ad hoc staff during the 2027 General Election.
The portal will officially accept applications starting September 18, 2026, through November 18, 2026. Qualified applicants across Nigeria are invited to apply for various operational and technical roles required for smooth election delivery.
Ad Hoc Positions & Target Applicant Categories
1. Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs)
-
Federal Public or Civil Servants on Grade Level (GL) 10 to 14.

INEC Registration Area Officers (RAOs) and eligible staff not assigned other duties.
-
Serving NYSC Corps Members.
-
Ex-NYSC Corps Members who passed out between 2024 and 2026.
-
Undergraduate students in Federal and State tertiary institutions (specifically penultimate year, 2nd, and 3rd-year students).
2. Presiding Officers (POs) & Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II, III)
-
Permanent staff of Federal and State MDAs with OND or NCE qualifications at required grade levels.

Eligible academic and non-academic staff of Federal and State tertiary institutions.

Eligible students of tertiary institutions.
3. Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers
-
Heads or eligible staff of schools hosting RAC centres (subject to qualification and grade requirements).

Eligible INEC staff.
4. Registration Area Technical Support (RATECHs)
-
IT students from Federal and State tertiary institutions.
-
Former NYSC Corps Members who previously served with INEC.
-
Suitable ICT staff of INEC at State and Headquarters levels not engaged in conflicting tasks.
General Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for any of the ad hoc roles, applicants must:

Fall within one of the eligible worker, student, or NYSC categories listed by INEC.

Possess the relevant academic qualification (OND, NCE, HND, B.Sc, or equivalent) where applicable.

Provide accurate, verifiable employment, student, or NYSC registration details.
-
Be fully available to participate in mandatory pre-election training and deployment across assigned polling units or centers.
