About the Role
Data-Lead Africa is recruiting Data Enumerators across seven Nigerian states for a short-term agricultural study. The project focuses on collecting baseline data regarding agricultural production, farm income, climate-smart farming practices, market access, financial inclusion, nutrition, and the empowerment of women and youth across local value chains.
Selected enumerators will undergo mandatory training before conducting face-to-face field interviews with farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and key value-chain actors using mobile data collection platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Training & Testing: Attend and complete mandatory enumerator training, questionnaire testing, simulations, and field pre-tests.

Data Collection: Conduct face-to-face interviews with farmers and agricultural respondents, accurately recording responses on digital devices.

Technical Measurements: Capture precise GPS coordinates and support farm-area mapping/land measurements where required.

Translation & Quality Control: Transcribe and translate local language interviews into clear English while ensuring strict data accuracy and completeness.

Field Safety & Ethics: Obtain informed consent, respect respondent privacy, and strictly adhere to research ethics, safeguarding protocols, and field safety guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Education: University degree or HND/equivalent qualification in Agricultural Science, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.

Technical Proficiency: Practical experience using mobile data collection applications such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or Survey Solutions.

Language Skills: Fluency in English and at least one local language spoken in the applied state, along with the ability to translate/transcribe content into English.

Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of the rural communities, agricultural practices, and travel routes of the selected state (applicants should apply for their state of residence).

Mobility: Willingness and availability to travel to remote rural communities for the full duration of the assignment.
