About the Role
Beyond Beans is seeking an experienced Standards and Assurance Manager to lead and support the implementation and management of certification and sustainability standards across cocoa supply chains in Nigeria.
Based in Akure, Ondo State, the manager will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Standards and Assurance team, covering key certification frameworks such as Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, Cocoa Horizons, and internal Beyond Beans standards.
Key Responsibilities

Certification & Compliance: Ensure all required certification documents are maintained, monitor compliance across the supply chain, and conduct group-level risk assessments.

EUDR & Traceability: Support farmer polygon data collection, traceability mapping for conventional EUDR suppliers, and conduct internal audits on EUDR compliance and pesticide usage.

Team Leadership & Operations: Lead and motivate the Standards and Assurance team, set performance objectives, manage the annual departmental budget, and train field teams on best practices.

Data & Auditing: Collaborate with Monitoring & Evaluation and Information Management teams to enhance digital data collection and fraud prevention procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Agricultural Development, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing agricultural standards (cocoa, coffee, or cashew), with direct cocoa experience strongly preferred.

Certification Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Rainforest Alliance or equivalent agricultural certification standards is required.

Skills: Strong planning, organizational, and budget management skills; excellent communication and advocacy abilities in English; and a deep understanding of local Nigerian agricultural realities.
