We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Technical / Content Writer
Location: Any City, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full Time

Purpose of the Assignment

  • The overall objective of this consultancy is to ensure a seamless implementation of the SARMAAN II training roll.

Specific Tasks
Working in collaboration with the campaign implementation team:

  • Undertake desk review of all the necessary background documents, related training materials relevant to SMC campaigns and mass administration of AZM to fully identify what information is needed to incorporate in the existing training manusl for SMC.
  • Develop content for an interactive Training Manual in easy language comprehensible to a wider audience and made up of the following modules:
    • Introduction to SMC and AZM
    • Children Eligible for SMC or AZM
    • Referral Steps
    • Administering SPAQ to eligible children
    • Administering AZM to eligible children
    • Recording SPAQ and AZM including integrated reporting tools & Pharmacovigilance
    • Interpersonal Communication
    • Safeguarding children
    • Integrated supervision
    • Supply Chain Management during the Integrated Campaign
  • Produce a treatment algorithm for an integrated administration of SPAQ and AZM leveraging on the existing SMC algorithm and other available integrated SMC campaigns.
  • Training Plan with detailed methodology, session plan with objectives and expected outputs, appropriate time requirement of the training and trainers’ qualification/experiences
  • Produce an Integrated Training Manual in collaboration with the graphic designer. The Training Manual should include: workbooks, flip books, relevant educational games, sample power-point slides, practical exercises, pre and post training test questions; boxes highlighting good practices and key lessons; reading materials and a lists of references.
  • Facilitate at workshops with key stakeholders from the national malaria elimination program, state malaria elimination program, ministry of health at the state and national levels and implementing partners, for the testing of training material, and validation processes

Expected Output / Deliverables:

  • Participate in trainings to provide context on integrated tool and collate feedback on from users of the materials.
  • A working draft of a training manual with a proposed set of handouts and job aids to be further developed by an illustration designer
  • Revise and refine the content of the training manuals after receiving feedback from the stakeholders
  • Deliver the finalized Training Manual, training plan and treatment algorithm

Qualifications and experience

  • An advanced Degree in Clinical medicine, Public Health or related field.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in health programmes, preferably in areas related to training or capacity building, programme implementation, data management and M&E
  • Excellent technical writing skills are highly desired.
  • Familiarity with mass drug administration
  • Excellent experience in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience in developing training manual and other training material for public health programmes
