Job Purpose

  • The overall purpose of this role is to support the identifying of new business opportunities for the organization.
  • The critical element of this role will be to provide administrative support to the Grants and Subcontracts Management team.
  • S/he will assist in grant administration, coordination and management activities including ancillary activities within the Grants and Subcontracts Management. 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the search of new funding opportunities across grant search engines.
  • Collaborate with other departments/units to ensure alignment of business development efforts
  • Support, maintain and track the grant development and project database
  • Support the follow up of team members in relation to specific grant deliverables per project
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and reports for the unit
  • Support the proof-reading and editing of grant and project related reports and other publications.
  • Support the team in partner engagement and relationship management.
  • Support in monitoring and responding to inquiries from potential partners.
  • Support the coordination of grant and project related meetings
  • Support the scheduling of grant and project related meetings and engagements
  • Support invitation of relevant team members to grant and project related meetings
  • Support the tracking of attendance of key team members to meetings
  • Support the daily notification of team members on meeting schedules with meeting agenda and key outputs
  • Support the preparation and sharing of meeting highlights/minutes as well as tracking critical next steps following meetings
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Marketing, Social Sciences, Master’s degree or equivalent in international affairs, Development or related subject will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in administration will be an advantage
  • At least 1 – 2 years’ experience in a business development role.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
