MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices (MSIN) is a results-oriented social enterprise dedicated to enhancing access to reproductive health services through modern management and marketing techniques. Our goal is to meet the needs of underserved Nigerians, improving their access to a wide range of reproductive health services.

MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices is part of Marie Stopes International’s Global Partnership, active in over 37 countries worldwide, and operates in Nigeria through six service delivery channels.

Position: Grant Manager (CIFF)

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project budgets in collaboration with the programs team, using the approved MSI internal budget template for each channel’s cost centers.
  • Phase all approved donor budgets by channel in alignment with program requirements, ensuring timelines are met and budgets are prepared for SUN upload.
  • Monitor project expenses by validating and assigning donor/account codes to prevent overspending. Track all approved requests via the PRF tracker until processed.
  • Review and approve all recoding journals, ensuring they are saved correctly before posting to SUN.
  • Maintain up-to-date BVA/PFR for each project with detailed variance commentary, creating a consolidated summary of project statuses.
  • Prepare accurate, error-free donor reports, submitting them to the Finance Manager for approval within set deadlines.
  • Provide consolidated project status reports in a format approved by the Finance Manager.
  • Post and reconcile all intercompany transactions, explaining outstanding items in detail.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of Deferred Income, including UNFPA donated stock, ensuring no balances remain on closed projects.
  • Update monthly funding pipelines and cost matrices, implementing the support office cost allocation policy.
  • Collaborate with P1 BH/Channel Leads to prepare rolling forecasts, quarterly forecasts, and BP within deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly presentation reports on all project updates, including YTD/FY status, spending variances, challenges, and action plans.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division, along with a recognized professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA).
  • 6-8 years of proven experience managing donor budgets in an international NGO setting.
  • Proficiency in SUN Accounting and other accounting software; advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage workloads.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving ability, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of general and specific commercial and company law, along with drafting and document review skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, high professionalism, self-motivation, and the ability to meet short timelines.
  • Capability to work under pressure and effectively interact with global MSI team members, diverse in-house clients, senior executives, and third parties.

Note: Relocation allowances are not available for this position.
