This scholarship is designed for students outside of Japan who are planning to enroll in graduate programs at the prestigious Asian Pacific University (APU).
Whether you’re pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree, this fully funded scholarship covers your tuition, provides a generous monthly stipend, and even takes care of your travel expenses to Japan.

Who Can Apply?
To qualify for this amazing opportunity, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:
- You must not hold Japanese nationality (dual citizens included)
- You must be living outside Japan and plan to enter on a student visa
- You must not have spent more than 31 days in Japan (with some exceptions for family situations or if you participated in the Rotary Youth Exchange program)
- You’ll need a basic level of Japanese proficiency (at least JLPT N4)
- You were born after April 2, 1980
- You’ve never been a Rotary Yoneyama Scholar before
Scholarship Benefits:
- Master’s Students: 140,000 JPY per month for two years
- Doctoral Students: 140,000 JPY per month for two years
- Up to 250,000 JPY in travel expenses reimbursed after your arrival in Japan
How to Apply
- Request to be considered for the Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship through the APU Online Application System by September 16, 2024.
- Apply to the scholarship organization directly in October 2024. Keep in mind that the Letter of Recommendation from APU will come after you’ve applied.
- APU will send the Letter of Recommendation to selected candidates after admissions results are announced on November 13, 2024.
- Submit the Letter of Recommendation to the scholarship organization.
