Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission, in accordance with the Nigerian Law, FRAD work in both humanitarian and development sector to build the resilience of Vulnerable populations through our interventions in thematic areas of WASH, Nutrition, Protection, Education and early recovery and livelihood. Over the years, FRAD has reached more than 19,000 children, men, women and girls through its various interventions.

Education University education or equivalent in Administration and Social science, or related fields.
Previous experience in Humanitarian Mine action
Experience: Previous experience in carrying out awareness or community-based EORE activities or similar

Duties and Responsibility

  • Facilitate the assessment of the living conditions of GBV survivor’s communities and participate in the development of appropriate response to the needs of SGBV.
  • Facilitate the involvement of SGBV and the community (leaders and parents) in the PSS activities and document the progress made.
  • Follow-up the preparation and implementation of case action plan.
  • Through working with the child protection committees identify potential foster families for unaccompanied and separated children in collaboration with social workers and community leaders.
  • Organize and facilitate positive parenting skills training (Parenting without Violence Common Approach) weekly sessions.
  • Assist the child rights clubs to demonstrate to the community and the concerning bodies about protection concerns that children are facing while living in the camp and promote the participation of children in all matters affecting their lives.
  • Organize and lead psychosocial support activities at Child friendly Spaces
  • Work closely with the child protection officer in the celebration of international events days and other awareness raising sessions
  • Assist and participate in the preparation of budget, work and spending plans, and PR tracking to monitor the proper utilization of the budget and timely implementation of activities.
  • Adhere and fully abide by the child protection code of conduct.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
  • With support from the Coordinator, supervise project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities (for example, monitoring against individual performance management work plans).
  • Work with the MEAL plan to ensure links to reporting requirements where possible, refer the MEAL framework to build an evidence-base for child protection programming interventions.
  • With support from the CRM/Accountability Officer put in place accountability activities for your project, ensuring that feedback from children and their families is considered in project design.
  • Ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Settings and the Sphere standard
  • Ensure survivors of gender based violence are timely identified and provided counselling and other appropriate response services.
  • Ensure relevant referral forms are in place, implemented accordingly and coordinate monthly meetings including, parent’s forum and child protection committee
  • Provide essential psychosocial first aid support to children and adults when needed and ensure partner staff are supervised regularly to ensure activities are carried out in line with minimum standard guidelines.

Requirement:

  • Previous experience in carrying out awareness or community-based EORE activities or similar
  • Previous experience in data reporting and/or using participatory techniques to gather information in at-risk communities.
  • Relevant experience in community-based facilitation and community mobilization.
  • Experience of developing good relationships with people and working in a participatory manner with groups of different ages, statuses, and backgrounds
  • Previous experience living and working in a cross-cultural, multi-sector team environment in Northeast Nigeria
  • Experience working with rural communities from a variety of different ethnic groups.
  • A demonstrated ability to multi task and process information into action in a timely manner
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and either Kanuri or Hausa.
  • Interpersonal Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships and maintaining effective communication with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
  • Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage and captivate an audience.
  • IT Skills: in regards to the report writing
  • Organizational Competence: Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Performance measures:

  • The Case Management Assistant will provide psychosocial support, basic case management support to survivors of gender-based violence through individual counselling follow-up support, referrals, and dissemination of information on available GBV services to encourage access to services.
  • She/he will in collaboration with the GBV officer oversee provision of   psychosocial /group support, skills building, information sessions and other recreational activities that promotes social support networks and cohesion with boys, men women and girls at the Child Friendly Spaces/safe spaces.
  • He/she will be expected to support on child protection sectoral assessment, project planning and coordination with other actors. In most circumstances, the post holder will be expected to mentor and/or build capacity of implementing partners on the field
