Call for Expression of Interest for Potential Programme Partnership At CBM Global Disability Inclusion

Are you an Organization of Persons with Disabilities, a National Non-governmental Organization, Civil Society Organization, community-based and faith-based organisations, academic bodies dedicated to making a lasting impact in development and humanitarian contexts in Nigeria? CBM Global Disability Inclusion (CBM Global for short), an internationally renowned organization, is seeking partners like you to collaborate on high-impact projects, programmes, and initiatives to drive transformative change in Nigeria.

CBM Global works alongside people with disabilities in the world’s poorest places to fight poverty and exclusion and transform lives. Drawing on over 100 years’ experience, we work with the most marginalized in society to break the cycle of poverty and disability; treat and prevent conditions that lead to disability; and build inclusive communities where everyone can enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential.

We work in over 20 countries, investing in long-term, authentic partnerships with the Disability Movement and multiplying our impact by delivering our core areas of work, which include Community Based Inclusive Development, Inclusive Eye Health and Neglected Tropical Diseases, Community Mental Health, and Disaster Risk Management. Why Partner with CBM Global?

CBM Global implements its field programmes through partner organizations. We believe partnership is about working, learning, and growing together to achieve a common goal, knowing that we can achieve much more together than we ever could apart. We encourage

  1. We are committed to authentic partnership and ensuring strong representation of persons with disabilities and voices from the Global South at all levels within our work. We seek to add value in our partner relationships, complementing and building partner strengths and expertise, and supporting capacity building at all levels.
  2. Comprehensive approach: Our strategic goals promote a whole of life, person-centred approach for persons with disabilities. Our approach does not just look to address change at an individual level but also challenges systemic exclusion and discrimination that exist. Supporting the voice and power of persons with disabilities as agents of change in both development and humanitarian action underlines our whole approach.
  3. Reaching those who are left behind: Our focus is low-income locations and engaging with the most at risk people, in particular under-represented groups. CBM Global programmes aim to reach those who are traditionally left behind or considered harder to reach – aligning our programmes to the changing needs and expectations of people in poverty.
  4. Gender and disability: CBM Global always considers the intersection of gender and disability in its country plan, field programmes, advisory and advocacy work as well as at an organisational level.
  5. Adapting to the challenge of climate change: The negative impact of climate change is being tangibly felt by communities in countries across the Global South, including Nigeria and it brings into sharp focus the disproportionate effect that climate change is having on persons with disabilities and why CBM Global needs to mitigate the risk of climate emergency on the inclusion gains achieved by the international disability community and INGOs such as CBM Global in both the development and humanitarian spheres.
  6. Responding to the COVID-19 pandemic: We put persons with disabilities at the centre of COVID-19 response and recovery efforts like every other pandemic and epidemic. Without this commitment, the levels of exclusion faced by persons with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic will be compounded and the cycle of poverty and disability further reinforced.
  7. Funding Support: You can benefit from CBM Global’s funding opportunities, which can support your organization’s projects and initiatives financially and assist you to reach your organizational goals and objectives.
