Applications are now open for the Al Jazeera Fellowship Program 2025, offering journalists and researchers a unique opportunity to enhance their skills and contribute to the field of journalism.
Organized by the Al Jazeera Media Institute (AJMI), this fellowship supports media research and provides hands-on experience within the Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN).
Through this program, fellows will develop a 7,000-word research paper on a selected area of journalism.
Participants will have access to Al Jazeera’s resources, join a dynamic team, and engage with editors, journalists, and staff relevant to their research focus.
Program Structure
The fellowship spans two months and is divided into two phases:
- Phase 1 (Remote): Fellows develop and submit a research plan and introduction to their paper.
- Phase 2 (On-site at Al Jazeera HQ): Fellows complete their research and finalize their paper.
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- Be a full-time journalist or researcher (freelancer or employed) with at least four years of relevant professional experience.
- Have strong research and writing skills.
- Be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Possess a solid grasp of English academic writing.
Note: This fellowship is open only to applicants from non-Arab countries. Arab country applicants may apply to the Arabic Fellowship Programme.

- Curriculum Vitae
- Fellowship Proposal (including title, field of interest, objectives, methodology, and abstract)
- Three samples of published work in English
- Two letters of recommendation
