Apply: Abba Yusuf Launches N260 Million Empowerment Scheme for Women Entrepreneurs

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has initiated a N260 million empowerment scheme aimed at supporting 5,200 women entrepreneurs in the state. The scheme, launched in Kano, plans to disburse N50,000 to each beneficiary across the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

Designed to uplift small-scale businesses and improve the economic status of women, the monthly grant acknowledges the significant role women play in their families.

Coordinated by the Community Re-orientation Committee (CRC), the program targets 100 women from each of the 36 rural LGAs and 200 women from the 8 metropolitan LGAs.

During the launch, Governor Yusuf described the initiative as a token of appreciation to women for their overwhelming support during the 2023 elections. He emphasized that the scheme aligns with his campaign promise to enhance women’s self-reliance and support their overall well-being.

The grant aims to fund various small-scale businesses including awara, gireba, koko da kosai, local juices, and kuli-kuli.

Furthermore, the State Government has renovated and upgraded several hospitals, particularly maternity and pediatric units, to alleviate the challenges faced by women and children.

Beneficiaries of the grant, such as Rabbi Musa from Doguwa LGA and Habiba Abubakar from Tudun Wada LGA, expressed gratitude to the governor for the unprecedented initiative. They believe the assistance will significantly boost small-scale businesses at the grassroots level, expressing their deep appreciation for the empowerment provided by the governor.
