Life at Best Development Initiative (LABDI) is a humanitarian organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, women, and households affected by insurgency and natural disasters in Nigeria’s BAY states.

Job Summary:
The Nutrition Assistant will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of community-based nutrition services. This includes mobilizing communities, managing moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) activities, supporting infant and young child feeding (IYCF) efforts, and participating in screenings and referrals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct MUAC screenings and referrals for malnourished children
  • Organize IYCF counselling sessions and mother care group activities
  • Mobilize communities and raise awareness on nutrition programs
  • Monitor daily field activities and generate weekly/monthly reports
  • Provide follow-up support to caregivers and ensure treatment adherence
  • Collaborate with Nutrition Officers and other program staff

Requirements:

  • NCE / HND / BSc in Nutrition, Health Sciences, or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in community nutrition
  • Proficiency in nutrition screening tools and basic reporting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CMAM, IMAM, and IYCF practices is highly desirable
