Imperial College President Scholarship in UK 2025

Imperial College President’s Scholarships offer a life-changing opportunity for up to 50 exceptional international students, giving them the chance to pursue their passion for research with the support of an expert supervisor.

If you’re an outstanding undergraduate or Master’s student with a deep desire to take your education further and pursue a PhD at a world-renowned institution, this scholarship could be your gateway to achieving that dream. You could receive full tuition funding and a generous stipend to support your PhD journey at Imperial College London.

Let’s dive into the details of this amazing opportunity.

What is the Imperial College President’s Scholarship?

Imperial College London, consistently ranked among the top 10 universities worldwide, is famous for its groundbreaking research and exceptional teaching. The President’s Scholarship aims to support students who have immense potential and a drive to excel.

How the selection works:

  1. Initial Review: Your application will first be reviewed by the department you apply to. They’ll select the best candidates to recommend to the Imperial College Selection Panel.
  2. Final Selection: The Imperial College Selection Panel, which includes senior leaders like the Vice-Provost for Research and the Faculty Vice-Deans, will carefully review the shortlisted candidates from all departments. Scholarships will be awarded to those who demonstrate the most promise and potential in their research.

If selected, you’ll receive an official letter confirming your scholarship. Keep in mind, the PhD offer will still depend on your final interview and any necessary qualifications being confirmed.

Who Can Apply for the 2025 President’s Scholarship?

To be considered for this prestigious scholarship, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

  • Applications are open to students from Imperial College, the UK, and around the world—there are no nationality restrictions.
  • You must be one of the top achievers in your undergraduate program and either have, or be expecting to achieve, a first-class UK degree (or an equivalent qualification).
  • If you have a standalone Master’s degree, you should have earned a distinction, or be on track to do so.
  • For those with an integrated Master’s degree (like MEng or MSci), your qualification will be considered as part of your undergraduate degree, and you’ll need a first-class UK degree or its equivalent.
  • If you have multiple Master’s degrees, the one most relevant to your PhD must have been awarded with a distinction.
  • International students should ensure their qualifications meet the UK equivalency standards.
  • Before applying, you must secure a supervisor from an academic department at Imperial College London who has agreed to guide your research. Note: a supervisor can only oversee one scholar at a time.
  • This opportunity is only open to new PhD applicants—unfortunately, if you’re already enrolled in a PhD at Imperial, you won’t be eligible.
