About the Opportunity
SNV is a global non-profit international development organization operating in over 25 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
SNV Nigeria is recruiting a Research Assistant for a 12-month learning and capacity-building internship placement in Abuja. Reporting directly to the Country Director, the intern will support SNV’s project portfolio across agriculture, agribusiness, renewable energy, climate action, and water management.
Key Responsibilities

Desk Research: Conduct research on agriculture, agribusiness, renewable energy, water, and climate-related policy and market trends.

Data Analysis: Assist project teams with data collection, analysis, interpretation, and mapping of market opportunities and value chains.

Content Generation: Prepare concise research briefs, literature reviews, presentations, factsheets, concept notes, and project concept inputs.

Stakeholder Profiling: Support mapping and profiling of private-sector firms, government institutions, development partners, and local stakeholders.

Knowledge Management: Organize research databases, document success stories, compile lessons learned, and support monitoring and evaluation activities.
Eligibility Criteria & Minimum Requirements

Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or a related discipline.

NYSC / Work Experience:

Currently serving NYSC member with a valid deployment to Abuja OR
-
Recent graduate with a maximum of 1 year post-NYSC work experience.

Nationality: Open exclusively to Nigerian Nationals.

Key Competencies: Strong analytical thinking, concise technical writing, learning agility, attention to detail, and proficiency in research methodologies.
