About the Scholarship
The Africa Health Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is accepting applications for the 2027 Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) Graduate Scholarship at the University of Toronto, Canada.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

Citizenship & Residency: Be a citizen of and currently reside in a Sub-Saharan African country.

Academic Background: Must be a recent graduate or graduating student from an Africa Health Collaborative partner university and have not yet started doctoral-level studies.

Academic Excellence: Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and leadership during undergraduate and master’s studies.

Admissibility: Meet the academic admission requirements for the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program at the University of Toronto.

Commitment to Africa: Demonstrate a clear commitment to return to their home country for the final two years of the program to contribute to local health and economic development.
Step-by-Step Application Guidelines

Review Admission Requirements: Consult the admission criteria for the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

Attend Mandatory Info Session: Register for and attend at least one (1) of the three virtual information sessions organized by the program.

Submit Scholarship Application: Complete the Mastercard Foundation Doctoral Scholarship application by October 1, 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be notified following review by the Admissions Committee.

University Admission Application: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit an official application to the University of Toronto DrPH program by November 20, 2026.
