Kebbi recruits 2,000 Teachers to Boost Education

The Kebbi Government has recruited 2,000 teachers to enhance delivery of quality education in the state.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Halima Muhammad-Bande, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi.

Ms Muhammad-Bande, who is also the Chairman of Recruitment Committee, spoke on the sideline of presentation of letters of appointment to the newly recruited teachers on Friday in Birnin Kebbi.

A teacher in Kebbi is a king because the governor is a teacher, who knows the value of teaching.

“Our governor assured that this is the first trench of teacher-recruitment exercise, others will follow soon,” she said.

Muhammad Garba-Bena, chairman, Kebbi House Committee on Education, lauded Gov. Nasir Idris for his support which facilitated the smooth conduct of the exercise.

“We are happy that this thing is happening during a time when teacher is in control. This recruitment exercise will continue until we have enough teachers in our schools.

“Therefore, I urge those candidates that were not successful during the exercise to be patient,” he said.

Also, Abubakar Magaji-Nayilwa, the permanent secretary of the ministry, enjoined the new teachers to give in their best for the development of education in the state and country at large.
