The Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, owned by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), is calling on qualified Nigerians to apply for several high-profile academic positions, including the prestigious role of Vice Chancellor
This call for applications was announced by Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, encouraging capable individuals from OIC member countries to take up these roles, which offer competitive international salary packages, healthcare, and travel benefits.
The Ministry stated, “Interested Nigerian candidates who meet the criteria are invited to apply directly for these vacancies at IUT in Bangladesh.”
There are currently three major positions open at IUT:
- Vice Chancellor
- Deputy Internal Auditor
- University Librarian.
Vice Chancellor
Deadline: 11 June 2025 – This is the top executive position at IUT.
- Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree, preferably in Engineering and Technology, and must demonstrate significant leadership experience in higher education.
- The post offers a basic salary of US$5,500, along with other allowances as defined by OIC Personnel Regulations.
- Applicants must be Muslim nationals from OIC member states, under the age of 56, and free from any health condition that could impact their performance. In addition, they must be nominated or have no objection from their home state government.
Deputy Internal Auditor
Deadline: 29 June 2025 – This role offers a pay scale of US$950–2,200, based on experience and qualifications.
- The candidate must hold at least a Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration, preferably with a focus on Internal Auditing. A PhD will be an added advantage.
- Candidates must also be Muslim nationals of OIC countries, under 56 years, and must provide a detailed CV with date of birth and contact numbers.
University Librarian
Deadline: 29 June 2025 – This position falls under Pay Scale P-1, with a salary range from US$1,200 to US$3,700.
- Candidates should have either a PhD in Library & Information Science with 12 years’ experience (including 5 years as Deputy Librarian), or a Master’s degree with 15 years’ experience, out of which 5 years must be in a senior role equivalent to Deputy Librarian.
- All applicants must meet the standard OIC requirements: Muslim nationality from an OIC member state, be under 56 years old, physically fit, and provide a no objection letter from their country if selected.
Benefits:
- Successful candidates will receive economy class return airfare between their home country and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
- Additional allowances and benefits will be provided based on IUT rules, which align with international employment standards.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized, “These are global opportunities to serve in a respected OIC institution. Preference will be given to international candidates from OIC member countries.”
