The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) operates globally to deliver humanitarian protection and assistance to individuals impacted by armed conflict and violence. We respond to urgent crises and simultaneously promote adherence to international humanitarian law. As a neutral and independent organization, our work is rooted in the 1949 Geneva Conventions. We collaborate with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and their International Federation to coordinate effective, timely, and unified humanitarian responses to crises.
